Prayer, after all, is our business activity and people sensibly aren't slow to make use of it. People need prayers. Often they need prayers even more than they know. They are quick to ask our intercession in their troubles, but few ask us to share their thanksgiving. And only a few come to our chapel to join our prayers of praise and adoration. But God understands that their lives are full and demanding, and accepts their due of thanks from us who are here to supply the deficiency. He has given us this work to do. People need prayers and God wants pray-ers. We spend much of our time in prayer. Private prayer in formal times and in moments of our own choice, and public prayer in the community. When the time spent each day in praying runs into hours it is necessary to have a framework of vocal prayer.
